Biographical Note

I graduated in the Teaching of Geology in the Faculty of Science of University of Lisbon, obtained a master’s degree in Education in the specialization of Methodology of Science Teaching, and a PhD in Education, expertise in Curricular Development and completed a postdoc in Science Dissemination and Teaching in the University of Porto. I obtained the professional category of Coordinating Professor. At Lisbon School of Education I have taught curricular units related to Science Education, Didactics and Environmental Education. I have also been a supervisor of teaching practices of initial training students in the 1st and 2nd Cycles of schooling. I was also linked to the in-service professionalization. My main coordination positions were: In-service professionalization coordinator, documentation and information center coordinator, coordinator of the domain of Science, coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Center for Educational Studies when financed by FCT and coordinator of three master’s courses. I am currently coordinating the master’s degree course in Teaching in the 1st Cycle of Primary School and Mathematics and Science in the 2nd Cycle of Primary Education. I have taught several training courses for in-service teachers.
