Biographical Note
Full Professor at NOVA FCSH, he has a degree in Economics, a PhD in Sociology and has spent most of his career in the Department of Sociology at NOVA FCSH. Over the last 20 years he has carried out research in the field of the historical sociology of education. Both in the teams she has coordinated and in the research projects she has developed, she has always favoured a multidisciplinary approach based on the formulation of problems and on macro and comparative approaches to educational systems and modernisation processes.

- Interaction between education, the opportunity system and economic growth
- Collaborative networks of schools
- Territorial inequalities in education systems
