Natalie Santos

Assistant Professor

Biographical Note

Natalie Nóbrega Santos graduated in Educational Psychology from the University of Madeira and has a PhD in Education from ISPA—Instituto Universitário. In the last 10 years, she has participated as a research assistant in three funded research projects and in supporting projects of the Center for Research in Education of ISPA-Instituto Universitário. She has also authored 32 articles in scientific journals and four sections (s) of books. As a teacher, she has covered undergraduate courses in Research Methods, Emotional and Social Instruments for Education, Learning Processes in Basic Education, Educational Psychology, and Psychological Assessment. She is currently an assistant professor at the University of Madeira. She is collaborating on the research project EduIn&Out – Quality in Early Childhood Education and Care: Bridging Indoor and Outdoor Environments and Routines, which aims to explore the different forms of time and space organisation encountered in Portugal and how early childhood educators conceive and manage the educational environment in the ECEC context.

Research Interests

Her research interests include assessing quality and effectiveness in education, academic assessment, teachers’ decision-making, studying the affective components of achievement, grade retention, self-regulated learning, and social and emotional learning.
